Early one morning, an alarm sounds in Threshold proper. Militia file out to the North, as well as Vela and some acolytes. The information that is gleaned shortly after is that all living beings in Threshold North, inside buildings and out were slaughtered.
Upon resurrection, they all tell the same tale. "The Eagles have arrived."
But if the earth ends in fire And the seas are frozen in time There'll be just one survivor The memories of our lifetime
The distinctive blue-and-silver armour and mage robes of the King's Forces have become more common sights in Threshold recently. though there don't seem to be that many - maybe only a few more at best. Those who are spotted are normally by themselves, moving through the crowds of Threshold's busy main street, or speaking with each other in the militia barracks.
Naturally, rumours begin to spread through the town. While some suggest they're part of a greater mission to assist Threshold, others have accused them of preparing to establish martial law and occupy the town. After all, if it happened fifty years ago it could happen again.
A member of the King's Magical Forces - a certain red-haired Arcanist - has been seen making frequent trips to the Arcane Alliance tower, often remaining within for many hours. Rumor has it she's been allowed to access areas in the tower normally reserved for members, although no one seems to know for what purpose.
Almost every morning since his most recent trip away, a new small woven basket appears outside Jax's [thatnormanmage] apparent. Inside every time are 3 green beans, 3 potatoes, and 3 tomatoes. No one seems to see anyone leaving them. Gossip asks if this is some new fitness diet? A strange new suitor? Offerings from beings who have mistaken Jax as a capricious death god? All that can be certain is that, within about 15 hours of their arrival, the baskets (and any organic matter unfortunate enough to be within them) dissolve into concerning organic puddles that smell very faintly of ... asphalt? and... wet dog???
Threshold residents are warned today of a slight shortage of water for several hours as a new system is being fitted to bring additional fresh spring water from Waterholde and The Teppes. There is also a building near the Town Hall that has workers tromping in and out, carrying heavy furniture and large crated items that are carefully wheeled in.
A well dressed orcish woman oversees them with stern words about "Not drop a thing or hides will be hided!". Her lacy green dress is a colour that could only be the height of fashion... as no commoner would pay good coin for it.
Not to be outdone. Among the working men and carts going back and forth to the corner of town. A large wagon is wheeled in by two lower ranking Griffon Adepts and some Kelvin Guardians. The cart is stacked full of crates labelled "Medical Supplies" and some are open topped. Revealing glistening bottles of healing potions and holy water, nestled in fresh yellow straw. The cart is bedecked in green and gold Kelvin flag bunting. The wagon is wheeled directly to the Cassannan temple and left there as a big, gaudy gift that tells the world: Baron Kelvin II keeps his word.
The baskets outside Jax's door pile up if they're not collected (EDIT: they still dissolve as normal), and the produce inside has started to progressively get more ripe to the point of starting to spoil, and at that point the deliveries end.
Is this some commentary on his relationship status? His change towards growth? Or something more dark and sinister?
Red Markova has been spotted recently descending into the basement of Darcy's diner, carrying candles, lanterns and oil. Sometimes she doesn't emerge for hours.
Red ignores all questions regarding her actions with a prim frown.
Kelvin is abuzz with information that the Kings Forces are marching giant wagonloads full of supplies, contractors, builders and assistants to the decommissioned Kings Road Keep. It is an ongoing several days of comings and goings, bringing in a good steady trade to both Threshold and Selenica - as well as Kelvin and Penhaligon on the way.
Merchants have sometimes begun following the wagon train and offering drinks, snacks and small trinkets on horseback in a bit to cash in on this short term movement.
But if the earth ends in fire And the seas are frozen in time There'll be just one survivor The memories of our lifetime
Threshold North has a series of builders and construction workers move in with stone shifting materials, logging wagons and demolishing equipment. When asked, they explain that they are 'shoring up the area'.
There seem to be more militia doing drills in those areas and assisting with wagons bringing in large pieces of metal and stone.
But if the earth ends in fire And the seas are frozen in time There'll be just one survivor The memories of our lifetime
They say Blane got a profoundly wounding dressing down in the middle of the main street of town by a furious Elora Robinson when he finally wandered in out of the wilds. Later he got so drunk in Darcies after the ordeal that they had to carry him home. He had been seen talking into his ale incoherently from time to time and even sometimes breaking into a lamenting song as though pining for someone.

After saving Kaleyc's life and protecting the rangers hut during a seige against fifty Black Eagles - The Bugbear Chieftain accepted a gift of 300 priceless gems of varying types. Several powerful weapons and soft winters wolf pelts to rest the new young kits they will have to replace their fallen warriors.
It is said that they were prepared to honor their pact. As were the Goblin warriors and shamans who assisted in trapping, luring and snaring their fare share. As well as acting as scouts in the treetops to warn well before the true attack. For their part in it, they have received over 2,000 greenstones and 500 malachite.
Both tribes mourned and celebrated the lives of their dead warriors.
Threshold cleared the hundreds of dead Eagles from their doorstep and remained watchful with locked gates and tentative cheer.
Though not far away Westron Road shudders with forceful aftershocks of a magnitude rarely seen. The Black Eagle Territory alarms sound all through the night and into the next day. It is said several mine shafts have collapsed and tornadoes swept through from several directions. Converging on the smoking crater of their wrecked barricade. Rumour has it that so many Hellballs had been used to end their occupation that the earth itself stood and took notice.
So far no one has been able to safely get close to look at the true damage of the attack.

The temple of Cassanna is once again buzzing. Earlier in the day, Taevin De'Lesco has gone into the special room on the left side of the temple, accompanied by several sisters and of course Elora Robinson.
Hours go by, only sister Ariane moving in and out of the room occasionally, carrying covered bowls towards another location within the temple where usually organic waste is disposed of. Sister Ariane can be seen with pearls of sweat on her face, and if anyone were to try and glance into the room as she passes would see a table surrounded by various Cassanites, focusing on intense labour.
After many hours, a weary Elora can be seen escorting Taevin back to his apartments. The man looks slightly uncomfortable, the bandages thickly wrapped around his torso potentially giving an indication as to why.

When not busy with paperwork or her duties as liaison to Threshold, Kalisa has taken to joining training with KAF privates in the Tarnskeep courtyard. Despite outranking the drill sergeant, the Mage takes the same abuse as the other recruits, and treats the training staff with appropriate deference while performing the exercises.
A tall figure in distinctive red and black armour was spotted by the ranger in the North Blackwoods area. Kaleyc may relay in conversation to visitors to his hut that the horn-helmed ‘person’ had what appeared to be a juvenile dire wolf at their heels. There seemed to be a rounding up of terrified goblin whelps going on, and the beast was being encouraged to chase them down - being rewarded with each successful attempt at ‘capture’.
The ranger grumbles at being left with a mess of ‘gobbo youngin’s’ to clear up.
A merchant travelling from Luln to Verge tells of a strange occurrence witnessed when in the Black Eagle controlled town. A group of raggedly dressed humans carrying mining tools were spotted in a clearing near the outskirts of Luln, held under guard by Troopers. Several BE soldiers then ushered a group of cowering kobolds into the area. A tall, armoured fellow with a large canine creature at his side had then appeared, and at his direction, the assembled captives of both races were driven to flee toward the nearby Barren Hills. The ‘dog’ was then set off in pursuit - but oddly it seemed the creature was being trained to set upon the kobolds and merely round-up or subdue the humans.
