The legacy you choose must be accurately reflected by your character's RP. For example, if you do not intend to role-play as a character from a specific part of the world, do not choose a legacy stating that that is your character's origin. You may be required to remake your character and choose a more appropriate legacy in such cases.

I was born behind enemy lines
Whether it was Luln, Fort Doom, Manticore Island; you, yourself know you were born among the worst enemies of the people that you now stand amongst. Survival is more than physical strength, it is the ability to play any side to your advantage and thus you have the strength of strong emotion behind your ability to convince anyone of your truths.
The skills you fostered to survive in a harsh society grant you +1 to your Constitution and Charisma, however, being denied a normal education results in a -1 to your Intelligence. Are you sure you want this to be your legacy?
Shady Path, Full Pockets
It's not easy to live in poverty. It's not easy to want for more when you have little. Others just want what they can't have. While The Barony of Kelvin is known for it's trading, rich wine culture, healthy livestock fields and excellent produce - you know the most important thing is this: You become a farmer, a Griffon or you fight your way out to adventuring. Adventuring can't possibly be scarier than Sulescu.
This legacy will grant you the Iron Will feat and +1 AC versus Aberrations, Reptilians, Monstrous Humanoids, Undead, Shapechangers, and Outsiders. Are you sure you want this to be your legacy?

Elf Only: I am a Callarii, a race of elves native to Karameikos
Your people have been hunted for sport. Eradicated to a smaller population, living in the swamps and the thickets of Karameikos. The elders say you have chosen The Wanderers path - when you thirsted for knowledge of the outside world. Thus you are adept at traveling with respect to the forest, surviving on very little, graced with an interest in changing things for the better - or maybe just for you? Regardless, your enthusiasm and charm is going to take you far.

Callarii elves typically have pale skin and pale blond, white or silvery hair. Eyes normally range from greyish blue to purple. Some Callarii, particularly hunters and raiders, have taken to painting (or even permanently dying) their skin in shades of green or brown and/or darkening their hair to better blend in with the wilderness.

Your extensive study of the schools of magic grants you Spell Focus feats in all eight spell schools. All that time alone with books has left you rather socially inept and somewhat lacking in street-smarts, however, leading to a -2 to your Charisma and Wisdom scores. Special Elf Only I am a Shadow Elf, and my past is for me alone to know.
READ VERY VERY CAREFULLY!!!
This legacy has strict requirements which are enforced via scripts. If you decide to take this legacy, you are responsible for following all requirements. Your character will be invalidated and deleted if you do not. This is a challenging legacy.
Shadow Elves are a mysterious subrace of elves found dwelling in the dark caverns beneath the surface world of Mystara. They follow the immortal Rafiel and are rarely seen outside of their territories. Why YOUR character is on the surface, and in Threshold, is up to you.
Shadow Elves are typically Lawful, coming from a highly structured/regimented society, but you may play any alignment you wish. A majority of Shadow Elves are somewhat xenophobic towards other races, especially other elves. You are not required to role-play your own character in this way but should be aware that it is common in their society.
There are several requirements you must be aware of:
1) Most Shadow Elves have very pale skin and white hair. Many also have pink/purple tattoos. Your character appearance should reflect this. Shadow Elves with mixed bloodlines can have other appearances, but are quite rare. You must seek approval from the core team for Shadow Elves that deviate significantly from their typical racial appearance.
2) You must pick Elf as your race, Shadow Elf as your sub-race, and Rafiel as your deity.
3) All Shadow Elves have at least basic arcane abilities. To reflect this, you must take either 3 levels of Wizard or 3 levels of Sorcerer by level 6. Wizard is highly encouraged for mechanical reasons relating to multi-class penalties and stat boosts from this legacy.
Shadow elves have different multi-class rules than other characters. After the check at level 6 for at least 3 levels of either Wizard or Sorcerer, Shadow Elves are checked at level 24 and level 36 to ensure no base class has less than 3 levels. This differs from normal in that they are exempt from the normal check at level 12, and are only required to take at least 3 levels of base classes rather than 6.
Shadow Elves suffer a -20% reduction to XP gain.
Shadow Elves have different death rules from most characters. Equipment/gold is dropped as normal, however, they are exempt from stat drain on death. Instead, each time a Shadow Elf dies, one of their Soul Crystals shatters. You begin with 18 Soul Crystals. When all are lost, if you die again, your character is permanently dead and must be deleted.
You may not give Soul Crystals to other Shadow Elf characters for any reason, however, they can be traded with non-Shadow Elves if you so desire. They will not drop on death, but may be pickpocketed from you(!) Soul Crystals can also be used to raise a dead friend, or attempt to slay an enemy (not guaranteed to work). They can also be sold to merchants. Given their importance in the life of Shadow Elves, expending, giving away, or trading Soul Crystals carries a great deal of RP weight.
You will never be given additional Soul Crystals for any reason, whether you die due to lag, a bug, etc. etc., it doesn't matter. The number of Crystals was double from 9 to 18 to account for these occurrences.
The one exception is that Shadow Elves with Cleric levels, known as Shamans in Shadow Elf society, may sometimes be granted additional Soul Crystals by Rafiel when they level up.
Shadow Elves have +2 Intelligence, and -2 Charisma. They receive a +3 bonus to Search and Spot. Spell Penetration Feat is granted for free. You are Immune to Paralysis. You receive 2 bonus spell slots for Wizard, Sorcerer and/or Cleric for every spell level, 0 through 9, unlocked once you gain the ability to cast spells of that level. Known bug: You may need to re-log after leveling up for the spell slots to show up.
Wizard, Sorcerer, and Cleric spells are cast at a higher caster level than normal. One extra caster level for every four total character levels.
That is everything. Now, are you sure you meet the requirements and want to be a Shadow Elf?

You must have black hair and white skin. Your head must have horns. If you have tattoos they must be dark blue/black/purple only. You are a supernatural creation, not a naturally born human. Although Goths are living entities with unique personalities developed over time, they are highly predisposed towards cruelty and malice, often with an edge of absurd humour. You do not have any memories prior to being 'activated' and beginning play.
You may never hold anything in your characters hands other than daggers. (No other weapons or accessories of any type may ever be equipped in hand slots).

You are a full Orc, not a Half-Orc and thus will receive an additional racial adjustment of +2 Strength and -2 Wisdom. Black Orcs must have either black or dark blue skin. Black Orcs are shock troops, and have very little chance of promotion to officer status. Some are able to join the Doomguard as the pinnacle of their career.
You have 375 gold with which to purchase your uniform and you begin with 1,250 xp for your basic training (just above level 2). Are you sure you wish for this to be your legacy?
Black Eagle Legacy - Human Wizard Only. No Good alignments: I am an Alphatian mercenary in the employ of the Black Eagle - the rest is history...
For human wizards only. See the soldier legacy for general details on playing a Black Eagle.
In addition to the typical Black Eagle requirements, the following applies to Alphatian Mercenaries:
You are unlikely to personally be from Alphatia at this point unless your character is very old. Rather, you are part of a mercenary company that was originally established by Alphatians and still maintains old traditions of Mercenary honor and fighting with both magic and blade.
You are only allowed to multi-class as a Weaponmaster, but may do so at any time you meet the normal requirements.
Unlike other Black Eagles, you are not required to wear a uniform - you may wear anything EXCEPT a standard Black Eagle uniform.

You also receive 1250 xp to represent basic training [putting you at level 2]. Are you certain you want this to be your legacy?

PRC Legacies
These legacies are not recommended due to the associated restrictions etc. These restrictions are not entirely balanced and you might think of these legacies as "challenge runs". The primary intended way for players to access Prestige Classes on Mystara Alternate is via application to the team.
Prestige Class Legacy - Dwarf Fighter Only: I am living proof that old dwarves don't die, they just get even.
Wounded in battle, you were left for dead by your comrades but somehow you survived. Although your wounds have never properly healed [-4 Dexterity as well as a very noticeable limp], your stubborn refusal to die means that the path of the Dwarven Defender may become available to you should you persevere. In order to qualify for this class, you MUST be a single classed dwarven fighter and if you take the Dwarven Defender class you MUST take all ten levels consecutively. If you multiclass with any other class but Dwarven Defender your character will be invalidated and deleted. Do you want this to be your legacy?
Prestige Class Legacy - Elf or Half-Elf Only: I was raised in Alfheim, where I was trained to shoot a bow to the exclusion of all else...
Agile but fragile would be a good way to describe you. Your focus on archery means that you may develop into an Arcane Archer should you choose to do so, but your lack of other combat training inflicts a permanent 25% vulnerability to Slashing and Bludgeoning weapons. Are you sure you want this to be your legacy?
Prestige Class Legacy - Druid Only: I was trained by my fellow druids to act as an avenger of the forest, taking on the shapes of others to defend my home.
Your training has left you vulnerable to unnatural energies, manifesting as a 100% vulnerability to all negative damage. However, should you persevere, the path of the Shifter may become available to you. In order to qualify for this class, you MUST be a singleclassed druid, and if you take the Shifter class you MUST take all ten levels consecutively. If you multiclass with any other class but Shifter your character will be invalidated and deleted. Do you want this to be your legacy?
Prestige Class Legacy - Bard, Wizard or Sorceror Only: My history includes an aberration in which black blood clogs my veins.
Your family history includes a supernatural taint that even now gnaws within your heart and draws you to the darker things in life. This legacy of blackened blood results in a 100% vulnerability to all divine damage and a -5 penalty to save against divine magic. However, should you persevere, the path of the Pale Master may become available to you. In order to qualify for this class, you MUST be a singleclassed sorceror, wizard or bard and if you take the Pale Master class you MUST take all ten levels consecutively. If you multiclass with any other class but Pale Master your character will be invalidated and deleted. Do you want this to be your legacy?
Prestige Class Legacy - Monk Only: I was raised by an order of monks who taught me the secrets of combat, and how best to focus them.
The lessons of your teachers have stayed with you, granting you the focus you need to follow the path of the Weaponmaster. In order to qualify for this class, you MUST be a single classed monk, and if you take the Weaponmaster class you MUST take all ten levels consecutively. If you multiclass with any other class but Weaponmaster your character will be invalidated and deleted. Do you want this to be your legacy?
Prestige Class Legacy - Sorcerer Only: My history includes an aberration in which red dragon blood flows through my veins.
Your ancestor's blood carries with it some unfortunate side effects, namely a 100% vulnerability to all cold damage. You can also speak Draconic as a native tongue. However, should you persevere, the path of the Red Dragon Disciple may become available to you. In order to qualify for this class, you MUST be a singleclassed sorceror, and if you take the Red Dragon Disciple class you MUST take all ten levels consecutively. If you multiclass with any other class but Red Dragon Disciple your character will be invalidated and deleted. Do you want this to be your legacy?
Prestige Class Legacy - Lawful Human Fighter Only: I have trained as a knight in the Heldannic Freeholds. The rest is history.
The Heldannic Knights are an order of Thyatian separatists loyal to Vanya. They tend to be human supremacists, even the good ones, and live their lives according to a strict martial code. They have little experience of sorcery, resulting in a 100% vulnerability to all magical damage. You also receive a set of Heldanic plate. In addition, should you persevere, the path of the Champion of Torm [Vanya] may become available to you. In order to qualify for this class you MUST be a singleclassed fighter, and if you take the Champion of Torm [Vanya] class you MUST take all ten levels consecutively. If you multiclass with any other class but Champion of Torm [Vanya] your character will be invalidated and deleted. Do you want this to be your legacy?
[Prestige Class Legacy] [Non-Evil, Non-Chaotic Only] I was born in Karameikos and lived through the great wars and political strife, my experience in leading and coordinating soldiers is uncanny.
You may take levels as a Purple Dragon Knight.
