How to Petition the DM team

If you have a storyline that you feel would deeply enrich the server, assist player involvement or create real and interesting change. If your character has fulfilled a grand story arc and is transitioning into a potential PRC candidate or if you have an RP group with a mini storyline that could do with some placeables or NPC love, we will open a petition process to players to use wisely.

Consider strongly, first, whether you recently asked for assistance. Or are a serial deleter or if your request is purely selfishly motivated and will do less than any good for the server. Yes, I'll be that harsh.

If you got past that point and you still think you're up with a chance and you want some love. Send the following details to Admins :

Links to supporting evidence: (eg Screenshots / forum story)

Please note, this system negates direct contact with DM's. Do not ask them via Discord to look at, accept or discuss requests. They will come to you if they need any help with your petition.

DM's are under no time constraint in responding to petitions, as core module work will always precede petitions.

Reasons to petition the DM's:

A legacy that isn't in the list
Any remake (includes rebirth, memories, metagaming info)
Faction Starts (KAF, Griffon, Militia etc)
Unusual race combination (aka Half castes not in the legacy info)
Prestige Class
Attachment to a previous character
Attachment to an NPC
Position in a major plot
Abilities beyond the mechanics
Custom dieties or new deities
Haunting / Possession / Supernatural Abilities
Monstrous or non regular races
Higher ranked or ranking officers
Royalty of this continent or other areas
If you think the character is unusual and you're not sure if it's acceptable. That means you need to talk the DM's via Admins and start a discussion to create the character and fit it into the current climate of the server, as well as ensure it's lore abiding.

What you must provide us:

A complete story, from beginning of your character's involvement to current day that fits within: Mystara Alternate as it currently stands. Including dieties, magic, factions and social circles. It must not be used to circumvent the rules of the server or be specific to making yourself more powerful. Characters must include appropriate balance. With great power often comes a price to be paid. We expect a high level of storytelling and characterisation to befit the requests you're making.

We understand not everyone is 100% able to write their stories and they just have ideas. It's okay to come to us about that, just be aware it will be a collaborative process - You may not come out of the process with exactly what you wanted, but hopefully it will be even more productive a process and give you a character that fits the world and is enjoyable to play.

Why do we do this?
This server is a small and very close knit playerbase that are balanced carefully so that the number of available DM's and storylines are appropriately spread around so that we can all have as enjoyable a time as possible. Many of the characters you know and love have been part of a DM collaboration or have been a pre-approved process character.

I don't think I should have to do this.
Well if a DM or Player notices a character that is unapproved and appears to have a non Mystaran storyline, diety, ability, title or place of origin - there's a very good chance you will end up in a DM Den and be asked to explain yourself and the process. You may be approved post-creation, however you may also be asked to delete your character.

This has been written as it appears that the above petition notice and the discussions on Discord are not currently obvious enough to make sure that people are abiding by the lore aspects of Mystara Alternate.

ONE-SHOT DM FORM PROCESS

This form is for MAJOR plots that you feel can encapsulate the whole server or a whole faction and make interesting plots that will involve as many people as possible.

The idea is that if you fill out this form (by request) and list the:

Storyline basics
Items needed
NPC's required
Enemies needed
Areas involved
Start to finish guide of areas
Basic premise of the hoped ending
Rewards ideas

This is not for:

Personal Plots
Personal Gain
Small groups (less than 5)
Trying to get an artifact
Trying to get a custom item
Trying to get a PRC
Obtaining any other customisation
