What it does: On first login to a server that has NWSYNC enabled, the sync will check your Neverwinter folders for the content that the sever has enabled: custom HAK's, CEP etc.
Why we use it: If you are missing content that would stop you from being able to experience the server - it will download these files for you automatically.
Sounds good, is there a catch? The first login to an NWSYNC server can take a long time. For someone with a good internet connection, checking for the CEP files (a lot) can take up to 20 minutes or longer. Note: Always download the CEP independently. Do not rely on NWSYNC as it sometimes has folder issues.
Yikes, what can I do? While you're waiting for Mystara Alternate to launch, you can log in to a CEP enabled server that has NWSYNC and presync your files. We suggest "Forgotten Realms Cormyr" as a spot to do so.
Will it Sync Mystara still? Yes it will. In order for you to have access to the content in the way we intended there is a very small download that allows for such things as the extended NPC Voicesets to be used (hooray) by players and other quality of life fixes.
Do I have to Sync?? Yes you do. For your very first login. Once you have all the files downloaded and checked completely, the NWSYNC will not need to recheck your files. This is a once and done situation.
What you can do while waiting: Read forum info on Legacies, Deities, rules etc. Write your character biography. Chat on discord. Make a cup of tea. Tell the team thanks for all their hard work.
