A local news tabloid attributed to one "Fester Nottingham" has been showing up in letterboxes and on noticeboards in and around Threshold.
Titled: "Freak sewerage incident in Threshold. Government cover-up suspected."
The article goes on to try and substantiate it's claims with a series of quotes and rumours from local residents & adventurers telling of a freak sewerage incident that nearly took the life of a hapless commoner.
It can be confirmed that a clean-up did take place around the central sewer hatch, but no other official confirmation on the exact details of the incident have been given by the governing body of Threshold.
Local barfly and militiaman "Dougo" had the following to say: "Aye, we 'ad a huge of clean-up to do that night.. i near bent me back outta place and had to miss a few days work. There was a fella hangin' around like a bad smell, in more ways than one if'n y'know what i mean, an he was raving on about seeing shit-monsters coming outta them sewers.. but i think it's all just a cover-up for the real issue, ay? The real issue this town 'as to face is 'ol Tagnar's incontinence prollems.. them dwarves may live a long time but too many years on the sauce sure does mess with thems innards, y'know? Now what was we talking about? Darcy's overpriced ales? aye! 's a right travesty i tells ya!"
Despite the refutations of Mr Davis there have been numerous reports of a stronger than usual stench eminating from the sewers.
This reporters questions remain unanswered. What are they hiding? And what kind of dirt don't they want us to know?
