Luminescent Technologies'™ Next Creation
Luminescent Technologies™ would like to hear what YOU, the people of Threshold (and our good friends of Verge) would like to see in an upcoming release of new items. Please read the attached rules and leave your written suggestions on the space provided on one of the authorised Luminescent Technologies™ posters. The most popular ideas will be put to a poll like we have done in the past.
We look forward to bringing you more goods that you desire!
NOTE: There will be no further additions to the "Unmentionable" line, or any new derivatives, so please do not ask.
//OOC: I'd like to throw this open IC after going through the OOC feedback again. We want to make sure that people are getting stuff they will actually use, after all. If you see a post you like, please "like" it so we can keep track of what is popular. If you have an idea that would be great but your character isn't the type to come up with it, post "anomalously" - there are heaps of NPC adventures around after all. Here are some rules that are hard to put into IC terms:
1) Items must be of the modular/upgradeable design as seen in previous items. Please don't propose something that is only good/cool as a +5 weapon, think about how it could be valuable as a +1 version too.
2) Items must be usable by as broad a base as possible (I know nothing works for everyone, don't worry too hard). Nothing should be class/alignment restricted. Please do not pick something that is as specific as "scythes only" or "exotic weapons only". Instead consider a broader group or theme such as "piercing weapons" (but preferably a little more tailored) or "weapons with an axe-blade" etc. The exception to this rule is for armours, because while it makes sense that a design could fit banded mail through to full plate, it doesn't make as much sense for something to fit cloth AND full plate. Try to think broad appeal or use-case as you can.
3) No ammunition, rings, amulets, thrown weapons, miscellaneous, or single use items at this stage. This is for balancing reasons and I am trying to avoid putting too much burden on The Team.

5) Remember Mystara's design philosophies - No permahaste or TS. Immunities are a big deal, especially broad ones. "Slay X on hit" is likely out.
6) With the above in mind, try to tell/sell the "story" of the item (or niche it fills) rather than the specific mechanical stuff. Feel free to include the mechanical suggestions as an OOC aside, but the main goal of this RP is about broad ideas that I (or more likely The Team) can tweak to make a weapon that has both story and a reason for being in game (and actually something people will buy). Please no joke items.
7) Please remember I do appreciate this and I hope you all can have some fun offering ideas. If you want to comment on someone else's suggest do so, but don't derail the thread. This is an IC thread that your character would be physically writing responses to.
